This event is on yearly during Australian Winter. For 2019 its on every Wednesday night from 5-9pm during the 5th June to the 28th of August. It’s located in the Queen Victorian Market place.
I fell in love when I visited here as it reminded me of the Christmas markets in Europe. The atmosphere was just as incredible as
The markets were very crowded but because it was outside in an open area it wasn’t as bad as it seemed. There were many food stalls with all cuisines from around the world. I had the most amazing Nepalese dish that had rice, salad and a veggie curry which cost $12. Apart from the food stalls, there were many stalls that offered alcoholic beverages. No where else in Australia have I seen mulled wine offered but it added to the European feel.
Each year different entertainment is presented. When I visited they had performers on a small stage down one end of the venue. It was great as those that wanted to watch could but it also didn’t affect the rest of the markets. They also have entertainment like Silent Disco which still happens in the same area and is defiantly funny to participate in or just watch the people participating.
The atmosphere is really great, they have many bar tables and chairs, other seating sections and many out door heaters. It definitely had a family feel to it and is a great way to meet new people and explore alone or come with family or a partner.
As well as all the different food and beverage stalls there are plenty of shopping stalls spread right around the venue. The stalls range from arts/crafts, clothes, beauty, toys, gifts and plenty more.
